Sun. 9/15 The Catoctin High School Varsity Cheerleading squad is holding a Car Wash fundraiser in the parking lot at Woodsboro Bank in Thurmont from 1:30 to 3:30pm The cost is $10 per car and donations are welcome.
It’s Frederick Fair Week! The fair runs Monday 9/16 through Sat. 9/21 Monday through Thursday admission is free if you buy lunch from 11am to 2pm Monday through Wed. is free for Senior Citizens 65 and over Wed anyone with a military ID can get free admission and Fri. 9/20 is Fair Day all kids 18 and under are free from 9 to 5pm For more information about the fair go online to thegreatfrederickfair.com

Wed. 9/18 Frederick County will host public meetings throughout September and October for residents to hear about grants that can fund improving broadband access in rural areas of the county. The meetings all start at 7 p.m. on their respective dates. This week’s meeting will be held at the Vigilant Hose Company at 25 W. Main St. in Emmitsburg

Sun. 9/22 The Frederick County Health Department invites you to their Rabies Vaccination Clinic at the Thurmont Community Park from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
Sun. 9/22 There will be an 1800s era Worship Service at Harriet Chapel on Catoctin Furnace Rd. south of Thurmont at 10:30 a.m. honoring the enslaved workers buried in the Slave Cemetery in Catoctin Furnace. Gospel music will be provided by Waseme.
Sun. 9/22 Shotgun Shoots are back at the Indian Lookout Conservation Club on Riffle Rd in Emmitsburg. Registration starts at noon and the shoot begins at 1 p.m.
